On Sunday I drove out to the Perris Lake State Recreation Area to visit the Searles Family, who was camping there. The Perris Lake Campgrounds are only about 30 minutes from my house, which is cool in case I ever want to go camping (there's a lake there and stuff). Anyway, I'd never actually met the Searles before, but their little boy Luke nearly drowned almost two years ago, and I've been following his story and praying for him through their website (
www.howsluke.blogspot.com) ever since. So when I found out they were going to be traveling through California on vacation (they live up in Washington), I emailed asking if I could meet them (and Luke especially). The Searles, Gordy and Sue, have seven children: Daniel (20), Amy (18), Natalie (17), Isaiah (7), Ezekial (5), Luke (3), and Lily (18 months). They are such a nice family! Since his drowning incident at 18 months, Luke cannot walk, talk, sit up, hold his head up, eat normally (he is fed through a G-tube), his arms and legs are very tight, etc. He is the sweetest, cutest little boy though. I sat in their (air-conditioned) trailer with Sue, holding Luke and playing with Lily during my visit. Luke is so precious, I just sat there in awe as I held him in my arms, praying for a miracle so that one day Luke can run and play with his brothers and sisters again.

So now I can say that I've officially met someone in real life that I originally got to know on the internet!
